Please can anyone help, i`m looking at either getting my 2004 1.9 tdi bora sport (150bhp) remapped or buying a tuning box like the one below....

VW Bora 1.9 TDI 150 Tuning Box Chip Diesel Remap | eBay

the only trouble is iv been phoning round lots of place for a remap and the power gain differ hugely from company to company, also the box above are these any better than a remap as it state it can change its setting to suit the way you drive????

so which is best a remap or tuning box, if a remap can anyone recommend a place preferably near bournemouth or if a tuning is better again can anyone recommend one?

    David

If it's the type that plugs into the wiring harness then it will work just fine, if it's the type that plugs into the fuel sensor then it's just a fancy resistor in a box ! I would go for a remap though, awesome gti still does generic remaps for £150 which is very good value for money if you ask me ! However i would trust a TUV approved tuning box more than a remap uploaded by a spotty kid with a laptop on your drive ! £400 is too much for that tuning box, you can get 2nd hand ones for less than 1/2 the price of the one you linked...

They are all the same mate + the Syeinbauer one is adjustable, it has a knob inside you turn to increase or decrease the power. Go for it, it's a really, really good tuning box that !
