    Hi all
i have a fault with my 2007 2.5 VW T5, the details of which are below

    001619 - Sensor Reference Voltage B
    P0653 - 000 - Too High - MIL ON

Has anyone come across this before? I can find very little info on the Internet about it, and was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
the background on it is, my starting battery died on the van and so I fitted a new one. Ever since I have had faults (engine management light on, flashing glow plug light and limp mode). I took the van to a local garage with the VCDS software, they plugged in and saw lots of faults rrelating to undervoltage (understandable). All these faults cleared and it's just left with the one mentioned above. The garage had a database of fault codes but they had no info on this particular one. I said I would go away and do some research.
it just seems odd to me why I would get a fault like this after changing the battery?

Thanks in advance for any help.
    regards
    gareth

    Thanks for that mate.
i guess it could be a problem with the inlet manifold pressure sensor then.
am i correct in thinking the reference voltage should be 5 volts?

It's not the exact code made i looked for sensor reference voltage on ross-tech site. I looked on the web too and the P code shows up as EGR fault on Fords and TPS fault on GMC. You might send a message to brucethebear he is an expert

Eds_taff, I am not finding any references to it. That doesn't mean it is wrong.. It means I am not finding it.. checking with tech support...

This is from the engine controller? Any chance you have a full auto-scan from the T5?

Hi mate, thanks for the reply.
The chap in the garage was a bit surprised with the fault aswell, as he had nothing in his database referring to it either.
he did a full scan a couple of times, the only details I have though is for this fault, I took a pic of the details with my phone.
i assume it's from the engine controller?

    Regards
    Gareth

Our tech guys (Peter) looked at wiring diagrams and such.... you need to look at G31 Manifold Pressure/Boost Sensor; G70- Throttle Position sensor; G28- Crankshaft Speed sensor; and look for wiring shorts to B+.... Disconnect all of them and look for shorts to battery positive.. no shorts equals big bucks as VW says replace the ECM! 4.5v to 5.5 v is spec...
