My first post here so your help would be much appreciated.

I am able to buy my bosses Golf GT TDI 110bhp from him. It is a 1998 S 5 dr and has done 122K miles (with air-con).

He has let me take it to my old mans VW garage and the VW computer has shown that it needs a new ABS pump. This will cost £350+VAT. Also, it needs rear trailing arm bushes (£30 a side) and an air flow meter which I can buy and fit for £55. Other than that, the car drives really well and it's in very good order.

He says I can buy the car as it is for £2400 as it is, so I reckon I can buy the car and have it all sorted for £3000. Would you buy it? Does it seem like a good price to be stood in at £3000?

It sounds like a bargain to me and I know that once I have paid the money to get it on its toes I'll have a nice, clean, economical car.

Any advice would be great, and if anyone know a cheaper way of sorting the ABS (other than taking the dash bulb out!) I would love to hear from you.

    Many thanks.

Sounds too expensive to me at that mileage, remember it 8 years old!
