Help! over-tightened (and snapped off) the High Pressure Sensor on AC Condensor Radiator

Fixed one problem with my car today (airbag sensor in b pillar) then it all went wrong . . .

I was changing the air-conditioning high pressure sensor on my car (the one behind the nearside headlight) and I over tightened the stupid thing.
The connection onto the condensor radiator snapped off and is now stuck firm in my new sensor.

I assume stupid needs to buy a new sensor AND a new/second hand air conditioning condensor radiator
I will be getting a garage to replace the above two items along with a regas. As the system is open will I need to repalce the receiver-drier too? or anything else?

I'm looking for an idea on parts and labour costs?

For what it's worth my car is due a cambelt change (and possibly needs an alternator pulley change - see my other thread) - would it make sense to have this work done all at the same time?

Any advice/help appreciated

That will come out no problem, you don't need a new condenser any mechanic that knows what he's doing can extract that, but depends on the garage and if they will rip you off by fitting a new one, price wise I would have thought an hours labor plus the new sensor

Thanks. You do realise that part of the condensor radiator snapped off: the threaded part which the high pressure sensor screws onto? Rather than the condensor radiator having something stuck in it its now got a bit missing!

From the picture it looks like its sheared off inside with a bit sticking out, I didn't know the condenser part had sheared off It looks like the sensor has snaped off

No worries - the black nut looking thing is confusing things - I'm not sure why that is there?
Thankfully worse case scenario a new condenser can be picked up for £58 delivered via coolcaraircon and if needed a receiver drier is £27
Should have been straightforward grrrr

I would advise replacing the drier. They will Vacuum the system (or should!) before a re-gas and that will get rid of the moisture in the system too.

Did you fix the issue. If so how same issue with my car
