    Hi,

Last week the rear offside door on my A4, B6, (2002) refused to open either from the inside or the outside.

When the key is activated, I hear the clicking sound from the lock area but the door doesn't open.

The window is also refusing to move.

As I couldn't open the door to remove the door card in the usual way, I had to resort to cutting it off to reveal the window motor and the actuator(?). See photos.( Please excuse the fact that they are not the correct way up. I did try!)

Now that I have partly revealed the actuator, what exactly do I do now to unlock the door?

    Thanks for reading.

More than likely the wires between the door and frame have broken. The door safe cannot release. I had the same issue with my N/S front door. Take a look at this thread:

Many thanks for your reply and link to your thread.
It seems to be a wiring issue and I'll look into that.
