I have been using my car as a van this week. To and fro to local wickes every night, half a tonne of mixed ballast, cement, or mot type 1 in the back. Barely know its there. Very impressed with the car at full load (525kg plus me makes about 600kg plus fuel). Hill starts no problem. You do feel it on the brakes though. Air suspension dealt with handling very well, not that i was pushing it obviously.

However, tonight, i also put two 3m long strips of wood in. Put a fleece on the dashboard to prevent marking where they sat. I decided to press the fold down button on the satnav screen just in case they shifted around to prevent damage.

When i got home and go into reverse up pops the screen automatically for the reversing camera. DOH! Fortunately there was still space for it.

Seems the camera takes priority over the manual button. Others be warned.

PS Yes i know wickes etc deliver by the tonne, but only to the kerbside, not to my back garden, i would only have to barrow it all...
