x2 - it's enabled on my A6 but doesn't work when hard braking 70-0 mph.

Also enabled on my A3 and doesn't work from 70-0mph .. Easier to see if they're working on the A3 as the indicator is on the wing mirror.

Just been out guys drove car to 50 ish and braked to standstill and had hazard flash ... I got partner to make film from outside... like Die Tryin' said the indicators on ins.cluster also flash to denote the automatic hazard flash...

If people want evidence then can PM and meet up and see in person ...
the only way I can prove I'm not pressing hazard lights is to probably use my HD camera on tripod in armrest inside and get wife to film on phone camera outside...

Just changed model 46 channel 50 to 3 which should give me the brake light flash IMO as I think the 1 code is for hazard flash so if I do 1+2=3... gonna go out and check very soon ...

I have now seen threads in various forums for VAG cars it seems hazard flash is legal in UK... in Europe they have the brake light flash as well but is switch off for the UK...
I will provide those links & videos soon ...

I need to sort out my seat belt warning chimes on vcds anyway at the weekend, so I'll try to activate the auto-hazards for hard braking. I definitely would not want the brake lights flashing though. In the UK, brake lights & hazards is a commonly used message to those behind to say "I'm stopping quickly". If I was behind a car that started flashingbit's brake lights AND hazards, it would distract me for a split second while I figured out what was going on - are they feathering the brakes to make them flash, or are they slamming the anchors on? That split second could be important.

Plus, if someone does go into the back of you, could they say your brake lights distracted them & are illegal?

I'm not going to go into legality... the hazards came on at car virtually at dead stop not before... my foot was still hard on brakes...

Ill double check mine tomorrow just in case I've made incorrect coding.

Will be fun trying to film as I'm home alone this week - I can only predict that an accident will happen at some point

I'm not questioning the legality as such Gup, I just wouldn't want to risk someone going into the back of me because my brake lights started flashing and I certainly wouldn't want to find my insurance claim was compromised because of it.

I do think the hazards coming on is a great idea though, the way yours do at the minute. Shame they don't come on a little earlier than at standstill, but still, better than not coming on at all. Looks like I'll be busy on vcds this weekend.

    Right guys ...

    Module 46

Channel 50 coded to 0 = No hazard flash or brake flash

Channel 50 coded to 1 = Only hazard flash... No brake flash

Channel 50 coded to 2 = No hazard flash or brake flash

Channel 50 coded to 3 = No hazard flash or brake flash

I'm happy with hazard flash only ... will still be exploring the J519 (module 09 adaptations) for DRL project (that's me hoping I still have an A6 )...

    Channel 050: Adaptive Brake Light

    • +1 = Emergency Brake Blinking
    • +2 = Brake Light Surface Amplification (only Sedan)

Note: Adaptation value is the sum of the individual options.
So maybe it is a saloon only thing ... but then you would think if Avant in Europe it should also do brake flash ... maybe some diggin around on the European forums ...

I can see why it as it virtually standstill as to save the confusion point...

This was one of the best pages I found on another VAG car... Link:- How to turn on the emergency ABS brake light flashers on VW Golf Jetta Sportwagen enable

I will now pester the ASN posters in the earlier linked thread as module 09 (J519) does not stop hazard flash on my car and the enquiring poster also seems as if he has an Avant and thread is newish?

Link:- Turn off hazzard flash when braking hard

Thanks Gup, that'll save me some time. I wonder what 'brake light surface amplification means'. I wish VCDS would use plain English .

I think that bit 0 is enabled by default in Germany. **********************
    STG 46 - Comfort System
STG coding -> Long Coding Helper -> Byte 8
Bit 0 - Emergency Brake Flashing via Turn Lights active (1 = active)
Bit 1 - Emergency Brake Flashing via Brake Lights active (1 = active)
    **********************
But it must be an emergency - a hard braking does not work.
The effect of my LEDs are enormous - in an emergency stop, the brake lights flash to a stop, and a few seconds later.
Above is from Link:- Warnblinkanlage und adaptives Bremslicht Seite 2 : Ist es eigentlich erlaubt? Auch versicherungstechnisch?

So in the A5 it seems a selection can be made ie Bit 0 = indicators Bit 1 = brake lights... they also discuss the legaility of brake flash in Europe in that thread...

Maybe there is more to coding the 4F without long coding/helper,etc or the same thing but in different format ...
