Make sure it has full service history - VW would be nice but specialist also ok.

Find out about previous owners ie ex rental/fleet car and if it is on longlife or time and distance servicing. If you do purchase make sure it is set to time and distance as this will help maintain the car better.

They came with conti seal tyres as standard but it should have a full size alloy spare as well - conti seal/run flat tyres are quite expensive but you do not have to run them if there is a spare.

7 speed DSG is good but look out for judder on when pulling away - sign of a clutch pack fault and smooth gear changes. Pay attention when stopping and 1st is selected - if it is jerky or harsh then a mecatronics may be faulty.

Check equipment and that it all works if fitted ie lane assist, park assist, electric park brake, zenon lights with active cornering and adaptive chassis control. Get a diag scan printoff to see any faults if possible.

Iirc the diesel engines on the CC are all CommonRail units so if buying from a dealer ask for a printout of the DPF ash loading as it should give an indication of life expectancy and previous driving style of the person before.

Find the extras you want on the car and search for them. Reto fits can hurt the pocket. Most looked after models driver like new I found so test drive a new one to compare.

See if you can find MT60ZKE, it was my lease car I sent back to VW last week, I really looked after it, although there were some minor scratches on the boot lid and I kerbed the front offside wheel two days before it went back (oops!) - but the spare's in perfect nick. 34000 miles in two years, interior's perfect as long as you don't mind orange seats, 2.0TDI 140 GT manual in moonlight blue with ambient lighting and walnut dash - it will be for sale in the VW network somewhere, soon. Oh, there'll be a few hidden bonuses you won't find on most CCs either

Well spotted mate!! Looks in great nick, they decided to leave my exhaust tips on! Not sure about the 'black leather' in the description though, it's also got ambient lighting.
