Audi MMI update, AMI and DRL's!

Hi all

i have just joined the forum and like to say hi!

just bought a new, well not 2006 plate, Audi A6. I'm happy with it, mileage is low and got a really good level of kit, and the price was really good!!

been reading a lot of the forums, especially about the mmi updates, and the associated problems such as losing features etc. don't the discs yet, audi won't sell, and been advised by someone in another forum not to use downloaded ones. Will have to update I guess when I locate a second hand ami! Unfortunately with the car purchase and new baby cant afford a new one! So if anyone is selling one please let me know, also if anyone is able to help with the VCDS and update aspects, would be grate! I live in the greater Manchester area. Would be willing to pay something towards your time. Would prefer to get update done before I locate the ami.

I also wanted to give my car a newer look with DRL's headlamps. Does anyone know if they will fit on my car? Don't want the strip LEDs that you buy off the bay, but the actual headlamp units. Again if anyone knows of a pair going for a reasonable price, do let me know!

Also look at the map in my signature for the location map nd if you need anyone PM'd let me know and I can bring their attention to this thread.

Second hand AMI units are rare but they do appear the odd time on ebay and forums as do the headlamps.

Remember to keep things legal you need washer jets in the front bumper and self levellers for the suspension.

Thanks for the reply. I don't understand, why do I need the washers, and the suspension leveller? What does it do?

does anyone know the part numbers for a compatible DRL headlight pair? Might start looking!

Its all the legal guff that's required to pass the mot due to the new rules.

You should be looking at something like these Genuine AUDI A6, S6, RS6 LED DRL Headlights 2009 | eBay

Of course if you already have Xenon headlamps fitted you don't need any other parts.

You will also need an adapter kit from Kufatec too to convert the halogen wiring loom to xenon http://www.kufatec.co.uk/shop/en/Aud...ter-Audi-A6-4F

Hi

does anyone have any part numbers for DRL headlights that will be compatible? This is what I have found: 4F0 941 003 DF, 4F0 941 004 DF. What's confusing me is that I have found a some with different letters on the end?

anyone help please? : )
