    Hi all

On cold start (over night standing) engine sounds very rough for a few seconds.

Can't hear any mechanical engine noises (thumps/rattles).

The only engine fault code is (but without any warning lights/cautions):

Address 01: Engine Labels: Redir Fail!

Does anyone have experience of this?

Is there anyone near South Lincs who's familiar with this engine?

    Many thanks

ps very new to this car (<2 weeks) and only had VCDS a day.

Could you take a video and post it up?

You have a faulty glowplug which needs changing

Have you cleared the glowplug fault and see if it comes back since it only happened yesterday?

Yes, I did that and it came straight back.
There's a parts supplier near me that is selling BERU glow plugs - any experience?
    Many thanks

Chain tensioners are a common failure on v6 tdi common rail engines...not cheap to fix either !

    I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!
There's no obvious mechanical noise... I'm hoping it's my duff glow plug.
    Thanks though.

    Glow Plug changed.
Fairly straight forward - old one well worn!!
Will see if cold start improved....

    Glow plug changed.
First cold start after the replacement - no change (no video, operator error )
Took the car for 25 mile blast (using sport most of the time ).
Following morning - a really good cold start.
Left the car outside for 3 days (cold and wet) - ANOTHER really good cold start.
So, hopefully new glow plug has done the trick!! Maybe, some settings had to re-adjust????
    Anyway, for now, all smiles
