    Hi all

I have an 06 B6 Passat that is showing an "Airbag Fault!" warning. It came out of the blue one morning (i.e. I wasn't playing with the warning light!).

I have an ODB2 scanner but that is reading no faults - is that possible with an airbag fault warning?

Any tips - or should I take it to a dealer?

Final question - dealer or local specialist for this sort of thing?

Thanks to anyone with time to help.

    Cheers
    KP

OBD11 is for emissions only so it won't read airbag codes.

Chances are one of the under seat connections became loose. Disconnect the battery, check them and tighten if necessary, then find an independent with vcds to reset the warning light. Some will do it for free, others may charge a minimal amount. Don't go to.a dealer!!

This used to happen on my wife's 53 beetle - funnily enough it wasn't the under-seat connections, but a sensor in the front bumper. Re-seating the wires solved the problem, but it was a sod to get to, I temporarily fixed it by banging the bumper with my fist (carefully!)

Thanks for all the replies. I will take it to a local independent I use. I have always been concerned about their VCDS because they seem unable to reset my service indicator!

    Cheers

I had this last year, turned out to be the underseat connection, indie took it apart, cleaned connections and reset, £40.00. Deal!
