Last weekend I changed my engine coolant temp sensor & in the process lost a minor amount of the coolant. After a few days driving & checking the coolant level it appears to be down to the "min" mark on the expansion tank. My question is: Can I top up the tank with distilled/deionised water? As far as I know the coolant is standard VAG issue red coolant.

    Thanks

I would check the antifreeze strength first before adding plain water.I try to keep mine about 33% and if its lower add pure antifreeze
