To remove the headlight it is bumper off... then aligning with the body panels a PITA... took me and my offspring alot of work to reach perfection ... after professional messed it up ...

Plus you will need bulbs internally realigned if you move the headlight ...

    Cheers Gups, bloody nightmare!

I may just pay my local garage to do it, Halfords told me that there was no way that they would include it in their "we fit" service...lol.

Consider yourself lucky, given recent postings about their 'service', you've dodged a bullet!

It can be done mate ... trust me I'm not a mechanic... previous to this car all my cars were a walk in the park to service...

When the four rings started hitting my bank account I just had to man up!

You will know your capabilities, if you feel comfortable do it... if not pay someone as DIY could cost more than getting someone to do it...

Esh right may wanna avoid Halford on change of bulb Link:- Xenon lamp failure

YES dealers can be a rip-off but mine has not been that bad... Link:- Dealer Negligence negated my insurance for 12 months.... What action to take - Page 2

Yeah, it's not easy but it is doable.

I've yet to tackle the nearside though - that looks even worse!!!

I feel your frustration but the satisfaction of doing it will outway the frustration. It's fiddly more than difficult and you do need to move the PS reservoir out of the way for the N/S and the airbox out of the way for the O/S. Give your self plenty of time and if you can use an inspection mirror and light to help you see both can be bought from fleebay for pennies.

as above give yourself some time and patience.

I tackled this and moved the airbox and found it very fiddly. Plus to get the bulbs in correctly too! Took me around 15 mins to do the left side one and was alot quicker on the right hand side.

Guys, if its any consolation, I'm a technical and mechanical halfwit and can now do both sides in well under an hour. Fiddly, but do-able. All thanks to the great help from this site. Bumper and headlight removal just doesn't bear thinking about.......so DON'T!

I've done my sides and DRLs but haven't yet had to tackle a HID bulb yet. Fingers crossed.
