Have you seen Gup's thread here:

The most Lemon Audi A6 Avant strikes again

Do you have an Avant? Is it possible you have the same issue?

Removed the trim in the engine bay (where a battery would normally be) and that's all dry....
    Any suggestions?

Feel for you mate.... initially I had the rear washer pipework fault@purchase (used car) I only lifted carpet and dried... then symptoms happened again... I thought I never dried properly the first time so fully removed interior and took 3days to dry carpet (summer time)... then fault happened again, rip out interior again, took a week to dry and sort out because of investigation work... the fault was water running through the body channel and seeping up...

There is an easy test, without interior removal... remove the under plastic under lining on chassis, drop a hose in the plenum chamber, remove some bungs on the box channel and see the if water flow...

    Hi Mark,

My view is this fault can occur on saloon as its chassis related...

    Wow! What a thread!!
It's taken me an hour and a half to read.
It's an Avant I've got so I'll check/remove the lower bungs.
Am I right in thinking that the driver side and passenger side of interior are not connected in any way because of the transmission tunnel?
How easy is it to remove the under body liner (no ramp)?
Many thanks and congratulations on your major investigation!!!

One more question (just incase, the water inside my car very clean) where's the A/C condensate drain(s)?
    Cheers

I only jacked it up with a trolley jack and was able to reach all plastic nuts at arms length, if I'm gonna be under car I use trolley jack and axle stand on subframe... be careful where you jack up car, use the jacking points!
There will be a plastic ring on the inside which hold the nut to the underlining they just clip back in, you'll know when you see them...

You'll find them behind the gearbox tunnel side trim... IIRC you may need to remove glovebox/lower dash trim drivers side as well... there are two drains either side of the tunnel...

If the carpet near those points is dry then you will have the floor water seep... unless its coming in through the plenum elec.boxes... but then you would experience more electrical faults....

Interior removal I'm good at so if you need any pointers/tips post and will supply ...

    You Sir are a star!!
    Many thanks!!
Carpet is definitely wet up that end.....
Have removed glove box and all trim to peek under the carpet (very wet, BT dead), haven't got the pax seat out yet for the full inspection.
Plenum definitely ok and pollen filter bone dry
    Thank you again.
I may be in touch again soon - sorry

    Gup
    Another question (sorry)
I read in another of your posts you were looking to upgrade BT to include voice.
    Did you do it?
If so which part number did you use?
    Thanks again
    Dave

Depending on level of water logging it will creep up the sponge... if you gonna take the time to dry carpet do the other test as well (ie hose just in top level of plenum & remove underlining/bung removal)...

Why I'm saying is modules are pricey plus the PITA removal/coding/fitting... you will have seen in that thread a post by fieldy stating his family members repeat issue due to misdiagnosis...

Well, looks like it was the same problem as you Gup!
Both floor bungs in the back of the pax compartment muddy/silted up (as is the carpet sponge area above them). Took them out, chassis cavity beneath them full of water and silt. Have dislodged/drilled the rearmost secondary bung (the one above the underbody lining, beneath the floor) as well as the underbody lining immediately beneath that.
Silicon sealed both compartment area bungs back into place. Just need to check the ones on the driver's side to be sure.
You've saved me heaps Gup - thank you!!
I'd checked plenum plugs, pollen filter, a/c drain, window&door seals, rear washer pipe.....
My Ross Tech VCDS arrived this morning - I'll be needing advice with that as well.... sorry
    Anyway, thank you again!!!
    You are a star.
Anyone got an Audi Bluetooth module for sale??
