Golf Mark 7 insurance

I'm collecting my new Golf this week. None of the insurance comparison websites seem to have the new Mark 7 models listed - nor do they recognise the car registration number. Any suggestions? Thanks

Thanks zollaf. I may have to do that but it's much easier to enter your details online on a comparison website & get loads of quotes at once. Even the VW 7 day courtesy certificate I received refers to the car as a Mark 6 even though I told them it was the Mark 7!

Comparison sites don't always offer the most competitive quotes, especially for a new model, a little bit of effort can go a long way with insurance quotes!

i know, i did that once a few years ago and still get bombarded with spam trying to sell me insurance. i even entered the date the policy expired and then get people i don't even know telling me my insurance ends in a month.

Get them to look up a 'Series 7' as that worked for my quote.

Contact the site sponsor Chris Knott, they smashed the quotes I got on all 4 comparison sites with a much, much better level of cover & lower excess to boot. They have actual undewriters who they can go to for permission to override the computer, unlike when you contact a big insurance call centre who have 'computer says no' approach & very little fkexibility. Prestige Insurance also beat the comparison sites, but for me, Chris Knott just beat them.

P.s. make surecyou tell them you're a forum member as they'll use that to get a better price from the Underwriter I believe.
