    Hi all,

i know many of time i have provided advice regarding Audi keys etc... however it's now my turn to ask the question...

The other day while rushing across a gravel car park i dropped my key and it fell to bits... i mean fell to bits!! The blade, cover, battery, all went flying everywhere.... !!!

After picking up the bits and putting it back together i have lost the "spring" part of it... ie.. when you press the button to get the blade to flip out.... its a manual process now..

So as it stand i have a loose blade that waggles about and i have to start the car with it upside down so it does not move when driving, (you know what i mean, so the pressure is on the joint rather than the spring)

I have not contacted the 4 rings as yet for a price for the back cover and internals.. but just wanted to put the question out to the field if anyone knew if you can get the spares..

i DONT require it programming, cutting etc ... i have seen a few on ebay which im thing of buying..... I can dissect the one i buy and use the parts i require in my exisitng remote..

SO....... my questions is......... is it cheaper to buy a full key from ebay or parts from Audi... ??

    ie..

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AUDI-REMOTE-SP...ayphotohosting

    Your thoughts please..

ps.. my waggley key works perfect so no damage was made to the chip etc..

    Many thanks

    RickT

There are a loads of places that sell the 'flip' transponder part, but it may be cheaper to buy a complete key with damaged buttons on ebay.

    http://www.hickleyvaltone.com/diagno...ist.php?manu=3 £20

    http://www.automam.net/keyblanks.htm $14
