Just wanted to update everyone that.... THE 2 CARS ARE FINALLY BUILT!!!!!!!!!

Currently they are awaiting shipment which can take 7-12 days.

I ordered 2 A6s in February, a 2.0TDi black edition and a fully loaded A6 3.0TDi quattro Avant. We were told that the 2.0 had been made on the 5th April, it was finished and was awaiting transport - wohhooooooooo!!


Still not here but there is a rumour that we may get it next Wednesday, but not definate.

My car, the 3.0 quattro, was made a while ago (I was informed that it was finished on 30th April) and has been sittng at Grimsby docks acting as a seagull toilet for two weeks. We might get it by the end of next week, but unlikely.

It's not just the time involved its the fact that as soon as it hit UK soil, no one call tell us when we will get it.

A real shame because the whole process has been brilliant up to now. The test driving, the research, the treatment from Sheffield Audi, the constant updates from Sheffield Audi (until it got to the UK), the exilleration of knowing there is a brand new A6 coming soon, etc. was wonderful, but what a let down at the end, spoiling the whole experience.

Wow, Thats a real shame. Im appalled at the after sales service. How can they not update you once its in the UK.
How comes its taking so long to reach you since it was made such a long time ago?

I think its too early for me to celebrate as the same thing cold potentially happen to me.

Yes, Daytona Grey. There was no other colour that I would have gone for. It looks stunning whatever the weather

The saloon is a standard Black Edition 2.0TDi 177 PS, and the Avant, because of my spine and the road quality in Sheffield, is an SE (Black edition would ruin whats left of my spine). 3.0TDi quattro, 7 speed auto with flappy paddles, black pack, black headlining, walnut inlays etc. I have added all of the upgrades the black edition would have had, except for the hard suspension and those gorgeous wheels - shame really but I really couldn't tolerate it. So it will look like a Black Edition apart from the smaller wheels and the ride height.

I have had a call from Audi today and should get mine by the end of next week, but not definate. We are now collecting the saloon on Wednesday.

My first post - Just ordered a 2.0TDI Multitronic black edition:-
Phantom black, tech pack, interior lighting pack, heated front seats, leather / Alcantara, folding mirrors and park assist.

Currently I'm in an A5 2ltr TFSI (well kind of in it at the moment!) also in Phantom Black. It's currently getting its engine rebuilt after the timing chain tensioner failed causing £4.4k's worth of damage. In the mean time I'm running around in an A6 S line 2.0 TDI in Havanna black. My A5 has a completely different feel to it but I have to say the A6 s line is a pleasure to drive.

Will miss the A5 but sure (and hope) the Black edition A6 will be a good replacement.

Anyone else gone from a 5 to a 6?

Hello Glenn

Just moved from a 2.0 A5 Sport TDi, can honestly say the A6 is completely different animal to the A5 and a much smoother more refined drive. The A6 Sline has far more kit and more luxurious feel not to mention all that practical space the TDi is slightly more powerful than the A5 but the delivery of he power with the multitronic is much better. I am delighted with the change as I'm sure you will be too!

Thanks for the quick response it's good to hear you were happy with the move from 5 to 6. My A50C forum had a few comments like "You will hate the set-up" or "its like a barge" but I've been driving in the A6 Sline for 3 weeks now and do like it. Think the multi-tronic will be better again. I like the feedback you have given re the A6 being more refined..........definately my experience so far.

May I enquire what sort of deal you managed to acheive on the quattro? I'm about to negotiate something similar at a dealer not million miles away............
