On my way home, I had to stop in a hurry after turning a corner on a country road to find an HGV stopped dead. I am may not have pushed in the clutch when I braked and I remember hearing a slight mechanical noise.

Now, the clutch has to be pushed to the floor to change gear, and it seams a bit less positive.

Is it possible that something in the footwell behind the peddle has slipped a bit, Or is this a hydraulic clutch and may need bled now?

I would greatly appreciate any suggestions.

The car is a 2001 GT TDI 115bhp AJM.

After a few days I got into the car, went to start it, puched in the clutch and it dropped to the floor - lifeless.

I took off the plastic covering the top of the pedals and it appears that a little metal piece (clip) has snapped off the clutch pedal, also a black clip has broken.

I have inserted a photo showing the top of the clutch pedal and the silver bit is now loose instead of being secured through the black hole - not very technical I know
