Finally replacing my A3 that I have never really been happy with, and plumped for a 2.0TDI Sline A6 with tech pack in solid black. Hope I've done the right thing after reading some of the messages on here, but I've probably got until April to wait.

Can't really afford any further options, but is the interior light pack worth investing in, just teh £200 version - thoughts.

Cheers, and here's hoping I'll enjoy it when it comes.

Congratulations! I'm sure you will be really pleased with the car! I really enjoy the nice features the Tech Pack added to my car. The lighting package is a nice touch too.

I bet you can't wait until April!

    Cheers!

Like MFGF says, congrats on the new purchase.

Heated front seats are a must on any car in my opinion as they don't come as standard with the S-Line and leather seats can be cold!!!! Also maybe DAB radio as BMW are fitting them as standard from this month...

There are lots and lots of shiny techy gadgets that frankly speaking are turning me into a dribbling mess jumping between WANT.... CANNOT AFFORD....

Congrats on the purchase. Re the Lighting Pack, I agonised over it thinking that the standard interior lighting would be limited. In fact that is not the case and with the standard system you get lighting in each footwell when the doors open, mirror lighting for each sun visor, red downlighting from the the overhead panel in the front and map lights front and rear. So the Lighting pack actually gives you the following, I have shown what is included as Standard, and I have not missed not having the Pack:

    - Courtesy lighting on the underside of the door handles and LED door handle lighting for easy entry and exit in the dark
    - Automatic activation when the doors are unlocked
    - Active internal door reflectors

    Interior:
    - Entrance lighting (Standard)
    - LED technology
    - 2 reading lights at front and rear (Standard)
    - Front footwell (Standard)
    - Inside door handles (Standard)
    - Make-up lights (Standard)
    - Storage compartment in the centre console
    - Ambient lighting of the centre console (Standard)
    - Ambient reflected light for inside door trims

Many thanks for the information, think I may give the pack a miss then. Probably going to be the longest wait ever, fingers crossed it arrives sooner, after all its not a particularly difficult build.

    Cheers

Just been looking through the book again, and note that the standard s-line comes with a 20mm lower suspension. There is a no cost option to lower this by a further 10mm. First of all, is that noticeable in the look of the car, secondly, what does it do the ride. I guess it handles a little better, but at the expense of ride quality maybe. So whats the verdict, to lower more or not??

    Cheers

I ordered a 2.0 S Line Multi in October. The dealer will have it next week but I won't get it until 4 March. I went for metallic black, heated seats and elec folding door mirrors. I would not bother with the 30mm lowered suspension. I think the 20mm with the 18in wheels will give the best balance of ride and handling.

    Are you getting a manual?

Hi, thanks for that, getting the 18" wheels as well, so think I will just look at the standard suspension. I am getting a manual as I still don't like the auto type boxes, for me, takes away some of the fun driving the thing, not that you can have much fun these days.

    Hi,

The car sits very slightly lower with the 30mm drop S line suspension. I think the ride is fine in my car (and mine has 20" wheels too), but of course it's entirely subjective. If you can, try to get a back-to-back drive in a standard S line with 20mm drop Sports suspension vs one optioned with the 30mm drop S line suspension.

    Cheers!

Another cheap option you may want to consider is the larger fuel tank - it's nice to be able to get a bit more fuel loaded up on longer drives...
