    Hey all,

Totally new here I discovered this forum when looking to change the lights on my car and found it an amazing help! So thought I would share the spoils for what I have done so far.

Its an Audi A4 B8 2009 SE 1.8T TFSI with the basic halogen lighs, DRLs and rear lights.

So far I have managed to changed the Front And Fog lights to Xenon HID 6000k and the DRLs from halogen bulbs to 4 P13W LED Bulbs which I got HERE from eBay (this was a nightmare at 1st as you cant just take them out but after looking around here I found a How To Guide which made it so much easier. Also had the windows Tinted by Extreme Window Tinting.

I have also Changed the read brake and tail lights for these LED Tail Lights which arrived today and where pretty easy to install and look great. I was torn between these "Smoked / Clear Lights" and the Official Audi LED Tail lights that have the red Plastic surround too. But thought these lights where quite different and have not seem many of these around.

Still some more little editions to be changed which should be arriving in the post soon.

Thanks for reading and I hope that is there is anyone else out there with the same car as me and want to change the lights that it can be done!

    Cheers Again

    Nick

Good effort but the rear lights aren't for me!

Far better off with the LED ones that come on the S-Line model but thats my own opinion

I am loving the new look of the car now it looks so much younger and fresher, I have also changed the rear number plate lights for LED lights so they are much whiter now.
Sorry about the poor picture quality, iPhones for you.

The lights are look top notch but in regards of the front lights am I right in thinking you cant just fit these LED lamps and Xenon ones you need to change the complete fitting..

    Hi there geordie1,

You are sort of right the Halogen bulbs in the head lights and fog lights needed to be changed to Xenon HID kits and the Side light "DRLs" Where P13W Halogen bulbs that i have changed for LED Bulbs the fittings where the same for the LEDs but in order to get the old Bulbs out you need to Drill 2 holes into each headlamp which is not ideal.

Here are some pictures of them taken today just before dark.

Have you had an MOT since converting the headlights to Xenon HID kits? I was led to believe they'll fail you if you don't have automatic self-leveling units and headlamp washers. Also, do you get flashed by oncoming drivers much ?

I have taken it into an MOT centre after they where fitted just in case (I had the same thought as yourself) and they checked it all over for me and they where fine.

And to the getting flashed by other people I cant say I do, I dont drive around with the fog lamps on and I have compares it to my fathers A8 with the Xenon lights built in and there pretty much the same as the standard ones. So its not like they are blindingly bright.

Are the HID Kits fitted to the dipped or high-beam front lights? (or both?).

    Hi Peter,

There fitted just to the dipped beams, High-beams are still normal Halogen bulbs.
