Touran - Windshield vipers goes crazy

VW Touran 1.9 TDI 2004 mod.

Suddenly the windshield vipers can start and run full speed for up to 10-15 min. without being activated. Thereafter on normal speed for about 5 min before stopping.
When the vipers are running they won't stop even if I shut down the car and take out the ignition key ! The vipers can then function OK for a couple of days before going crazy again.
(The viper motor was replaced only 2 months ago.) What can I do to remedy this ?

could be the wiper stalk. can you get it scanned for fault codes?

Solution found. Elec. supply cable to wiper motor damaged and which now and then lightly grounded. (About 20 cm upstream vipermotor).
