I like the handling of my A6, but it rolls a little too much I think, so was thinking about some -20mm Eibach springs and maybe stiffer anti roll bars if possible, has anyone done this to their SE? Is it a good idea or would it ruin it? I put some on my old E36 BMW 325 and it didn't make that much difference to the ride and improved the handling a lot.

Have not got lowered springs on this motor yet but have used eibach many times in the past, would very highly recommend them. Would imagine they give a similar ride to sline springs but sit fractionly lower and if arbs are available also this would be a great combination. I've been tempted by this but have so many other things on first they'll just have to wait. Is your car used as a daily, mine is a daily and family runner so can't be too low and needs to be comfortable.

    2007 3.0 tdi le mans : Hybrid turbo decat : miltek etc : 330-350 bhp : 450-500lbsft

Visibility pack. Adaptive xenon, Privacy glass. Bose surround. Dvd nav. Comms pack, led plate lights.
Miltek, custom map, hybrid turbo, decat improved airflow to intercoolers.

Yeah it's used most days, and have a few long distance trips planned this year so it definitely needs to be comfortable. I have a long list of bits I wanna do too, but thinking of making this the first as it should make it more fun to drive, just worried about ruining the ride though as it's really smooth at the moment.

I fitted 30mm Eibachs to my car and then fitted 19" alloys! the ride is very acceptable and the car looks much better for it, so its a thumbs up from me.

For before and after pics have a look at this thread:

Thanks Mr 400, exactly what I wanted to hear I love those wheels too and probably the ones I will go for eventually, i'm frustratingly short of money at the moment and there is loads of stuff I want to do to it. Mine is the same colour and has the same wheels as your old ones, so your before and after pics were very helpful.

You mentioned you were gonna do the lights too, have you done it yet? I'm thinking of projector lenses with a 55 watt xenon upgrade kit.

Yes I think the Le mans alloys in 19" look good on the A6 without being 'flash'. set up an Ebay email alert for second hand ones as they do pop up occasionally. Keeping your original alloys for a set of winter tyres has obvious benefits.

I upgraded my bulbs to a set of Philips Extreme vision, but to be honest the gains were minimal and didn't live up to the advertising.

I am toying with the idea of a HID upgrade but didn't want to dazzle other drivers etc until I saw H7 55w Xenon HID Headlight Conversion Kit for Can-Bus: HIDS 4U which seems set up for headlights with reflector headlights rather than projector.

Will report back if I go ahead with that!

There are lots of replica's on eBay but not sure if they are the same width or not. Haven't got the money for new wheels and tyres till I get a new Job, so will just do the cheaper things at the moment, and can't even start on those till after my Alps trip in July.
I was thinking of getting some halogen projector lenses and fitting the xenon upgrade kit to them. I'm assuming there would be no need for the self leveling kit then?

I lowered my avant on H&R 40mm with replacement standard shocks. Made a world of difference and was better than the standard set up. YOu may find eibachs don't lower enough. Oh, I also run 19"s
