    Afternoon,

Just purchased a 2009 A3 1.9 TDie Sportback; the rear bumper is relatively unmarked but is there a good way of preventing it from becoming scratched (by the unloading of shopping etc)? I am considering one of these:

    Item number 400344074618 on eBay

Has anyone used one, do they do the job, are they a good fit and does the scotch tape do a good job of securing it in place? My car is black in colour to the protector wouldn’t look too intrusive.

Also considering a boot liner; anyone got any feedback on this?

    http://www.bootsliners.co.uk/AUDI-A3-BOOT-LINER-2003-2012.html

We had something similar in the Passat and it was a pretty good fit. Or is there something better out there (that is still reasonably priced)?

Thanks again for all your help.
    Dave

I am looking at this, which appears less obtrusive, as my bumper is being badly scratched with saxophone cases and sports bags by careless children. Given up asking politely for them to take more care.

    Ebay item 320692151416

It's also available from Huntington Audi, but with extra for postage. I have used the above seller for a few bits and pieces.

As for the boot liners, I have also looked at these and the genuine Audi ones are a similar price to the one you are considering.

I had a similar query not so long ago but never got round to buying one OEM rubber boot liner - is there such a thing?

Some good tips in there from Sam and Nigel.

You can buy a clear bumper protector which will obviously look like theres nothing there and not give you a big black strip accross the back of the car - I'll have a look online and see.

Audi do a few protection "packs

The bumper protection is the same as in the ebay listing above (same product code) though the picture looks different, maybe to emphasize.

The Audi boot lines, I seem to recollect, were more plastic than rubber, but they did a couple of variants (other than model differences) one of which was much higher at the side in case of liquid spillage. I'll have to track down where I found them.......

    Several versions here.

I’m not sure about the clear film bumper protector; if it’s anything like the clear film used to protect mobile phone screens (but larger obviously) then it’s a non starter for me.

Think I will go for eBay item number 400344074618 and for the boot liner 380470266505. We had something similar in the boot of the Passat – it did the job and looked smart enough.
