Just got my first Audi yesterday - an '02 A4 1.9 TDI (130). One of the niggly issues I need to fix is the driver's door not working with the central locking (either from the remote or the central locking switch inside the car). All the other doors lock from the remote and the central locking switch. The drivers door and all the other doors lock when you turn the key in the door. It's the same situation with unlocking the door.

I know this is a common problem and I done a search before posting this, but I couldn't find any threads with the info I needed. The previous owner told me that the wiring loom to the drivers door was replaced before, as was the controller for the electric window in the drivers door. The central locking was apparently working fine after this was all done and the issue with the driver's door locking only appeared recently.

What I need to know is: Where is the first place to check the wires for breaks etc and how do I access the wiring inside the door? Is there anything else worth trying? I can't imagine that a blown fuse or anything would cause JUST the drivers door not to lock/unlock, but I guess it's worth a try.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and if anyone knows of an existing thread that has the info I need, feel free to post a link to this thread, rather than repeating the information.

Thanks in advance.
