    Hi guys

Would really appreciate some help on this one.

My brother has asked me to look at his fabia. Its a 1.9 sdi ASY engine. Its running really rough under accelleration and has no power. Ive used VAGCOM to find the following fault codes.

    17849 - EGR Valve (N18)
    P1441 - 35-10 - Open Circuit or Short to Ground - Intermittent
19557 - Motor for Intake Manifold Flap (V157)
    P3101 - 35-10 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent
    17660 - Commencement of Injection Valve (N108)
    P1252 - 35-10 - Open or Short to Ground - Intermittent

The garage he took it to before said it is a suspect ECU/fault. Is there anything simple I can rule out first like relays, blocked EGR as the garage have already said the wiring is ok.

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

As you now have a list of the fault codes you can check their cause and solutions here Ross-Tech Wiki. Before you do anything clear the codes and cycle the ignition sequence about 10 times. Then scan again. Check all vacuum pipes for cracks and at the joints, check the induction system, air and fuel filter. Pull the pipe off the egr and put 180 degree angle on it and tie it., cover the nipple on the egr with insulating tape.
