    Hi

I have just purchased a 98 TDI Sport.

Car is excellent but have a problem. The drivers side rear door speakers are not working? Any ideas what could be wrong? Was tld it could be the connectors but how do I take them off?

Another thing is I want to change the gamma headunit for an aftermarket one.

It has to look OEM and I have about £150 to spend. Any ideas? will I need any adaptors for the antenna?

Will I be able to connect the factory boot cd changer in any way?

    TIA

If you want to change the head unit to an aftermarket one it will no longer look OEM. If you want to maintain the OEM look leave it alone or see if there is a higher spec OEM unit available.

There is a link in the audio assistance thread which shows you the differences between various types of OEM radio.

If you keep it OEM then you may not need to get an aerial adapter.

Does it look as if the radio has been removed before? if so inspect the speaker wires for thair contacts as this couls be your problem especially if a previous owner had swapped the radios when thay owned the car and swapped them back again when selling.

For £150 you'll be limited to ebay me thinks. still its cheaper to change nothing.

    Thanks for the reply

I think it was removed to fit the cd changer but I am not sure.

As for aftermarket headunit, which headunits match the interior lights?

    see entry number 9.
If there are frurthe upgrades to the OEM gamma unit than i'm unnaware of them.

Do some investigations of your own, go round looking at other cars for sale like yours and see what they have installed, find one you like take a photo or get the model or make and get one just like it.
