Hi All,

I've got a 2006 MkV GT TDI 170PS that I've owned since new and has now got 114,000 miles on it. I've always had it serviced under a Longlife regime and it is now due its 6th Longlife service. I was advised by my local VAG specialist to switch from Longlife servicing to Interval servicing due to the high mileage and was wondering whether to move to Interval servicing or not. It has always been serviced annually up until now due to my relatively high annual mileage but I'm using it less now so it is possible that it could go 2 years between services which may present issues for a car with this mileage. That is the opinion of the garage anyway who are recommending Interval servicing now.

What are people's thoughts on this as I'm not sure what to do? More frequent servicing is probably advisable but then again if the service light doesn't come on for 18-24 months then presumably the oil condition is ok and I'm not doing any real damage?

Thanks
