I can't make use of the chassis number from home but I get the turbo for a BKC 2006 Touran to be either a Garrett or KKK. If marked 038 253 056 E (but could be marked 038 253 010 D or 038 253 014 G) it is a Borg Warner KKK BV39. If it has a Garrett turbo it will be a 03G 253 014 F (but could be marked 03G 253 016 K) and is a GT1646MV. Personally in nearly every case we deal with we have the customers unit rebuilt so what it has is inconsequential. In my experience it is the KKK units that do what yours has suffered from

Hi was just wondering if replacing the turbo worked. As I am experiencing the exact same problem on my 2006 bkc jetta.

@Crasher @Borab0y only just realised how old this thread is. Could you please let me know if the problem was down to the turbo. Thanks

    Hi Ibryson30,

Yes this was caused by the turbo, the bearings had disintegrated and the spindle would no longer spin, starving the engine of air

Thanks for the response I've had a couple of people look at it. And thought it could been a internal engine fault. I'm glad it's fixable thank you.
