Okay then, maybe a long shot but what the hell. any of you guys who have replaced there injectors kept the old ones and want to offload them? Preferably the working ones to reduce rebuild costs. I'm looking to get a set together to send for upgrading as the turn around time would mean taking my car off the road for some time Which I'd rather not do. Preferably matching part numbers if possible.
    Thanks

When they do rebuild does it matter if faulty or not?

Apparently they want to flow test each injector before they commence work. They said faulty injectors can be fixed but costs would be increased due to the extra labour

AFAIK 3 on mine were faulty going my measuring blocks... I'll PM them to you if you want?

Same with Fieldy he had 3 faulty, I can't recall how/where he got test done, it may have been@Audi, IMO they would have also just checked MVBs not bench test like injector workshops...

IIRC injector test I was quoted was £10-£15 per 1@a inj.workshop... need the £££ to carry on with project Zesty the A6!

If I get checked the 3 are you interested? I'm happy to discuss price after test done and you will be under no obligation to buy ...

There was no blow-by on them or shaft damage...

Correct, tested at a Bosch centre using MVB's. But they didnt remove them to test properly. He said to me 3 out of 6 out of tolerance.

So IMO injectors 2 (73), 3 (74), 4 (75) ... are very near zero... my car had done 80K when removed...

They were removed with nerd like precision... caps from the new ones were place over them straight away...

So £30 - £45 to get them bench tested with report from Link:- United Diesel Link:- Wainwright Bros ....

Here is a great video on a machine which can be used by these type of workshops... Link:- Bench testing

    Some great vids on youtube...

Right, been doing some more research on intercoolers. Does the A5 3.0tdi have the same intercooler setup as us?
The reason i ask is I`ve found a couple of A5 3.0tdi`s running a larger fmic in place of the old existing one making it an easy upgrade, just some bracket fabrication and a universal core 600x300x76.

I replaced the standard intercoolers with a big fmic, think the pics are on another thread. The difference was quiet noticable
Btw the old ic's are for sale if anyone is interested?
