Having had usual wet carpet etc, I recently cleaned the plenum blockages, I have had a dehumidifier in the car for two days, and my dash instruments wont work. The only dash lights are the lcd, the lights on indicator, and the handbrake light is on constantly.

I removed the dash and checked connections, but I think the problem connector is somewhere else.... Any ideas?
It was the passenger footwell that got wet...

Google for SSP 254... as a meddling owner these SSP's have helped me alot to gain knowledge of where these modules can be/their names & functions...

As a tip put adobe reader in two page view, uncheck show gaps, select show cover... then view page 36 & 37 and other two page views will also be correctly laid out...

Next google for a site called Audi portal, then select Diagnostics>>ECU>> select your car in search engine which I think would be Audi A4 8E ...
Here is a link off there for one module Link:- Audi Portal: ECU Diagnostic . Audi A4 8E (2001-2008) . Central Electric I J400

That site will show locations/info on modules... by cross refing the SSP as well you may find info...

Sorry got no more thoughts... as only a owner but I've had massive water issues with my A6 and sympathise fully with your situation..

    Hope you fix your issue...

Thanks a million! I also noticed that there is a clicking behind the dash and the temp and fuel guages "twitch" ever so slightly so maybe a damp short somewhere. The foam under the carpets holds a serious amount of water btw.

Yep Link:- The most Lemon Audi A6 Avant strikes again ( and that was not the first time but I hope it is the last!)

RE the dash pod it may need repair work (again not sure I would check & dry all connections/related items first), I've used Link:- http://www.bba-reman.com/

There is a site that shows common ins.cluster faults maybe google for info, it maybe the above linked one or another...

Thanks again, though I dont think the A4 B5 has the same modules the later 01 facelift has??? as I cant seem to find them.
Found that site for clusters, though have a hunch thats not the problem as this happened before and sorted itself out...lol
