hiya guys totally gutted my cambelt has snapped on my 2.0 fsi AWA engined A4 at 60 mph i know without looking that the valves will be bent etc, all I'm after is where (in your opinions), the best place to buy the parts required also the required locking tool needed as i'm struggling to find anything on it too, oh and any hints, tips etc to assist me would be greatly accepted. thankyou very much everyone and wishing you all a happy and peaceful Christmas and new year!

That sounds most unfortunate! What milage has your engine done, and how long (miles and years) since it last wore a fresh belt?
I'm afraid I cannot give any helpful information, but Iam sure somebody who can wil be along shortly.
Best of luck with the repair.

At that speed you lucky if the pistons ok to be honest.Try eurocarparts or gsf for bit but take the head off first to see the damage.

I've found Laser stock VAG equivalent tools... having a quick search it depends on date range what tools you need...

OP - we have a wonderful search facility on the forum.

Search - "AWA" without the quotes.

I'm sort of by your post Chris... I did a search with AWA... the best thread I found was this Link:- Please Help A4 2.0 FSI Engine Failure

Only on page 2 of that thread part no's occur, some good tips but lacks some content for a DIY/home repair/part supplier other than dealer... no tool info...

I hope you not take wrong way but I sometimes get confused by "search for" as if sometimes people bring an old one they are suggested start new...

Sometimes things change ie new info, availability of parts/tools... so what is the general rule of starting thread/bumping old one?

Looks like OP will bring further great content to i) get help ii) help another... after the search it does look thin on results for people having done work on engine/at home other than the mechanical discipline posters on the forum...

As always I'm still learning ... but at least there are great people (like yourself) to learn from on here ...
