Hi everyone

quickie question....

Test drove a B7 S4, auto version today. I've only ever driven manuals. Car felt great but driving in a wet, slow moving 30mph zone the box felt like it didn't know what gear to be in - compared to a manual - hard to describe but it felt like it was a the top revs for 2nd and lowest revs for third?
Booted it and whoosh, off we go.
Does this sound normal?
Does it sound like I've just got to get used to an auto box?

Nearly went through the windscreen a couple of times by accidentally left foot braking.
Also, odd thing was that I'm sure I noticed the dash reading 29mpg a few times.

Oh yes, also, the box was in 'D' and I had a go at the paddles - are they just silky smooth 'cos trundling around at 30mph there didn't seem any difference in 2nd, 3rd or 4th.....

It will do 29mpg if you drive it like a granny, in fact you could probably even squeeze out closer to 35 if you reaaaally try! But then, why would you buy an S4? ;-)
