    Hi,

Does anybody know how to adjust the Windsreen washer nozzle ?. As my nearside is set far to low..........
Or is this another Audi job as it needs special tool or hard work like changing a light bulb.

There is indeed a special tool! Not much to it in reality, just a short stiff metal rod of the right diameter, with a handle. For home use needles are too brittle, and paperclips too flexible :-(

If it's like the Avant & I assume it is then you can do it by opening the bonnet and removing the nozzle housing the large black plastic bit, just prise it away. Be careful of the pipe and electrics for the heated nozzle. This give much better access but unfortunately adjusting the jet will be trial and error. As far as what to use I've used a needle but they can snap easily.

And today I tried to do it, because as "stock" the factory setting on the new jets is a bit low. I even got a tool off ebay to do it with. Huh! The adjusting "needle" is too fine, so there is too much slop when it's in the nozzle, and because the nozzles are hiding a couple of inches under the bonnet rim, the tool hits the bonnet before any movement of the jets! I'll have to a) find a better fitting bit of metal (a thick needle I guess) and b) use the chadders method of trial and error I think. Sunday should be dry enough to try again.

Edit: Sorted through the whole of my wifes sewing box to find a needle that a) would fit but b) not go too far in. Then managed the drivers side with the bonnet shut, and the passenger side by opening the bonnets, using a mirror and the needle to adjust by feel (e.g. pure guesswork!). All jets now about 70% correct, and thats good enough for me - if I try any more they'll no docubt "jump" and I'll be decorating the scenery.

Has shown me a few chips on the windscreen I should get attended to though.
