    hi everyone.

i have a small question to ask, does anyone know if there is a PR code for heated door mirrors? my 1999 passat looks to have a position on the mirror adjustment switch that looks like a heating symbol but nothing seems to happen when this position is selected.

so i am wondering if this function is fitted to my car.

many thanks and a happy christmas to everyone.......... mark

    Put your codes into http://igorweb.org/equidec/

A fault code scan wouldn't go a miss if there's something wrong.

Could you show us a picture of the icon?

I can't remember were I read it but on my car the heated mirrors only work if the DIS is showing a frost symbol and turn mirror switch to heated (centre position)...

I may have read this in the owners manual...

The heater elements will be open circuit, new mirror glasses are fairly cheap off Ebay (if in doubt pop the glasses out and put your multimeter on the contacts, anything more than a few Ohms and they are shot)

What he says. Just buy new glass and transfer the original glass holder over or the wobble about like a <removed>. It'll make more sense once you pull the mirror off.
