    Default Can I swap a single CD for a changer without having to go to a dealer – 24-06-2014,11:21 PM
    My 2007 A6 has a single disk CD player in the glovebox and it's pants. Who had the idea of stashing a single CD where you can't reach it safely while driving???? Can I pick up a 2nd hand 6 disk changer from somewhere and slot it in, or do I need to go to a dealer to get new software downloaded?

    You need component protection removed on the replacement unit so Audi I'm afraid unless there's any specialists near you with the correct equipment.

    CP can be removed by indi garages (cheaper than main dealers) as long as they have online VAS, I know of a couple on the UK mainland, perhaps Chris know of some in Ireland?
