Every four hours or so for the past day I am having to go and unlock my car to deactivate a long spell of beeping that is coming from the rear driver's side of the car....I have read topics on here relating to the bleeps and have tried looking under the rear light assembly for the whereabouts of a possible siren as it seems that the battery goes on them causing the beeps.

Question where is the noise eminating from?...I have a 2000 2.4 A4 (old style A4)

    How do I stop it?

    Help it's driving me spare!

***Just had another good look, found the siren....If I disconnect the siren will it stop making the bleeping noises??

Yes I did disconnect the siren, it's easy enough to do...with a car of the age my one is (year 2000) I don't really need the alarm anyhow....the only alteration is that my indicators do not flash when I lock/unlock the car, plus of course the alarm is not working.

The siren is located between in the boot, driver's side corner and more or less within the bumper...it took me 5 mins to disconnect.

    Cheers

PS If you run into any problems finding it let me know

You must have worked like a demon to get that done in 5 mins. You didn't mention you had to take off the rear plastic section and pull all the clips out to pull the inner trim away before you can even get to the siren . It worked though so thanks for the post.
