I have long wanted to upgrade my headlights (halogen) to xenons but I really like Audi's facelifted (2009?) headlights with LED DRLs so have been browsing around for a little while. I note skidmark's previous thread. As expected it will be much more costly and time consuming than just doing an HID conversion. I have found someone who will be willing to supply the entire headlights (genuine Audi and not China look-a-likes) with working xenon bulbs and LEDs in refurbished condition, he will also be able to carry out all the retrofitting modification work. He says it would take 2 - 3 hours and has given me a quote of approx. £700. What does everyone think?

That's rather a lot IMO what if they get hit by a stone sorry to be doom and gloom. As well as that how much would it be for your insurance they'd hike up your premium because of the mod. If you had an accident and wanted £700 worth of lights fitting rather than the ones that it came with it you'd have had to have told them and if not they'd put in the same as the originals and you'd have lost a lot of money. This is an expensive mod and maybe the money could be spent elsewhere but it's up to you

lots - self levellers for the suspension (apparently £250 a corner), headlight washer jets, the headlamps themselves, ballasts, bulbs, wiring converters, new switch etc

its more than £700 as the headlamp units are expensive 2nd hand and you cant buy a lhd unit either

etiher get philips xtreme vision or osram night breaker bulbs
