    HI...

Have any of you guys got any ideas why my spark plug blew out of the head of my car ??????

The thread seems to be okay. I've put the plug back into the head and re-tightened it......but I've yet to turn the ignition over as I don't want it to happen again. This is the first time anything like this has happened to me...even the road side assistance guy has never seen anything like it before...

So if any of you have got ideas I'd be really chuffed...The car is a 1987 VW Golf 1600...

    Thanx Scotty

Just spoke to my dad who's a VW technician - he says he has had this a couple of times and it's a worn helicoil thread in the cylinder head. You'll need to get a new one fitted - fit another plug without a new helicoil and this situation will happen again and again.

You donlt need a new head and there are lots of specialist that can do this for you in no time at all (the type of places that skim cylinder heads, etc)

Let me know if this helps.
