I have just had the cambelt tensioner bolt shear on my 2002 Audi A6 2.5TDI with 102K miles. I am waiting for the bad news, but what is even worse is that the camshafts are severely worn. This is incredible as I have been changing my oil every 11,000 miles with longlife 506.00 spec oil. Has anyone experienced either of these problems.
    Audi A7 3.0TDi 2011 180k miles, engine code CLAB 204bhp 2WD

My car went to the Audi garage after 2 months of starting problem. Although its an A4 1.9TDI Yr 2001 with 148000kms, I would think it looks more to happen in a diesel engine. My car has always been serviced by the Audi dealer so I guess the correct oil was changed at the 10000km interval.

One Cam lobe had more than 10mm wear and the others about 4-5mm seen with the eye. Looks like this
