For a while now I have heard a intermittent humming noise while sat at traffic lights. I actually tracked it down yesterday, the drivers side headlight level motor is running for a second or so now and then.
The golf does not have self leveling does it, if not then the motor must not be parked properly, I suppose I better get it to the dealer before the warranty expires next month.

No the Golf doesn't have Self Leveling Headlights unless you have Bi-Xenon. Take it in for a check while its still under warranty.

I motored the lamps up and down a few times and then left them in the normal up position and it seems to have stopped the noise. Must have been slightly out of position somehow.
