    Hi all,

I'm a happy VCDS coder, and I'm just wondering if any one knows a way to change the behaviour of the 'fuel cap door' lock via VCDS ?

Currently, I have to take my key out from the ignition to get the fuel cap door lock open, if I just pull up at a petrol station, switch off the ignition,
leave the key in and get out of the car, I can't open the 'fuel cap door'

I can see that this is usefull as you should'nt really leave your key in the ignition when refueling but I usually have passangers in the car
and I would like to change this behaviour, ideally, I would like the fuel cap door lock to be open when my doors are unlocked and locked when
    my doors are locked.

Does anyone know if there is a VCDS code to change this?

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

Small update, error code i had was
02615 - Fuel Tank Cap; Lock
009 - Open or Short to Ground
    Freeze Frame:
    Fault Status: 01101001
    Fault Priority: 2
    Fault Frequency: 3

Found one cheap solution in forum thread " open fuel door with emergency wire few times and close". At least worked for me(Now fuel door opens if key still in). If still no help some solenoid-actuator need to be replaced- no high cost.

Wow! Thanks for this info Gunnark100, I'll try this, and here I always thought that this is how it was meant to be, never thought it was a actual fault.

I'll have to read out some fault codes with my VCDS to see but I would imagine that I have the same.

I'll try that suggestion to "emergency open" the fuel door, I'll have check the manual on how to do this, unless you know of a good link or description?

    Many thanks again

    Found this picture http://www.markwilson.co.uk/blog/201...an-audi-a4.htm

Plastic one- do not pull hard- some people had pull this off. I pulled 3 times and after every pull locked with key again. At least 3 times tested and still opens when key in

Tried this before aswell, did not work in my case, fuel door only opened with key knob.

On this thread is part number wich need to be replaced and little DIY if emergency hook trick will not work.

Same here, opening with unlock button did not do the fuel door, but now it works! I opened using the emergency cord couple of times and now the fuel door opens! Thanks for the help Gunnmark
