3.0l Quattro Avant Winter Tyre Pressures - Help Please!

My tyre pressure sticker is torn (the one inside the filler cover) so I don't have the full data for the recommeded pressure for 225/50/17 M&S winter tyres.

The fronts should be at 41psi, but the value for the rears is missing. Can someone please tell me what it should be? I'm getting them fitted to the car today.....

Only my thoughts....

I think the stickers must differ due to:-

i) chassis style eg saloon or estate

ii) vehicle weight, as these are factory stickers maybe equip level, suspension, etc factored in

iii) axle design/weight category

iv) engine size/gearbox used

v) stock tyres

vi) year of manufacture

There are in total 67 data stickers for tyre pressure in EPC ...

for varying engines and options... £2.50 ish ...

Edit: just realised it's for a 3.0l which will be completely different despite the wheel size being the same. Therefore despite getting the photo, it's completely useless to you lol.

Does it not give the pressures in the owners manual?

In a word, no. It refers you to the sticker inside the filler cap - and mine (for a 3.0 Quattro S-Line/Le Mans) is different again from Gups of course (his being an SE with sports suspension). However looking at the various options it seems that for "normal" loads the rears are 6psi lower than the fronts, so as I have a front pressure of 41psi showing on the sticker for the 225/50/17 M&S normal loads (interestingly higher than Gups by 3psi), I'll go with 35psi on the back - unless someone has the actual sticker to hand that is.

Just checked mine for you, and for 17" M+S with 3 person is 38 front, 32 rear. 5 persons 41 front 44 rear

Thanks for that - but..... mines an auto (which is the only difference I can see that would make a difference, assuming your's is a manual), and it's definitely 41 on the fronts with 3 people, and 44 with 5! Sooo many variations. Same year too (mine's a 56 / December 2006 first registration)

I wasn't doubting you Just goes to show the variety of tyre pressures that Audi are recommending. All your pressures are slightlk down on what my sticker says - for 255/35/19 I've got 42 for the fronts for normal load. I'm wondering if it has to do with the OEM tyres fitted, but can't really see why it should . I'll see how it rides tonight.

And thatnks the Chris, here it is! Different part no. to joedredd's, and different (and more) pressures listed. BUT I don't think that 16" rims can be fitted to my car (I understood the S-Line brakes are too large a diameter to allow it) so maybe his is the more correct sticker, who knows (with lower pressures)?
