    Hi Folks

I've done a search here but I cant find the answer.

I have just bought an 05 Audi A6 3.2 Quattro to replace my old Audi A6 which had to be retired after 163,000 glorious and largely fault free miles. The new car has a CD Multi changer in the glove box which has Aux1 and Aux2 inputs. I'd like to be able to connect my Ipod touch when I'm off on longer journeys and to control it through the MMI. Is there an easy way to do this?

I'm hoping I can just buy a cable and connect it and disconnect it at will because the thought of doing anything more complicated like an upgrade to the MMI software has me coming over all girlie / brain-no-worky* Can anyone point me in the right direction - preferably with small words and short sentences? I kind of bust the budget to buy the car so a visit to an Audi main dealer is probably also not on the cards.

    Thanks in advance

    Tracey

I'm no expert (far from it) on in car entertainment, but as it's late & you may not get the exprrts at this time, I can suggest searching AMI (Audi Music Interface), that may throw up more accurate search results as it may give you iPod connectivity.

    Hope it helps.

I've never heard of the CD changer having AUX ports.

Could you confirm which MMI you have fitted?

Mmi basic/+ - central red screen above the centre air vents

Mmi high - large colour screen above the centre air vents

    Thanks - Tracey

Does your system have SD slots under the CD changer in the glovebox? If so I just chucked my music on an SD Card. Works flawlessly with MMI. It gives me full control over my music which is just organized in a similar fashion to itunes. Artist > Album > Tracks. I was pretty gutted when I realized I had no ipod connectivity as I had an alpine after market head unit in my last car, but this more than makes up for it in my opinion. In someways I think it is a better solution because I just leave the SD card in the car, don't need to remember to take my ipod with me. Bonus being that SD cards are really cheap these days. I paid about £15 for the one I am using just now.

    Hi Tracey,

You can fit the audi music interface. It is a unit which can be relatively easily swopped for your CD multichanger in the glove box. You need a CD removal tool to slide the unit out, then simply disconnect the wires and reconnect to new AMI. You will also need the correct lead to connect to say your iPod. If you needed to keep the cd player then fitting the AMI unit is much more involved. See the sticky on retro fitting AMI.

Look on ebay for AMI units for Mmi high 2G.

It's something I wish to do but can't justify the £280 plus.

Just looked at this complete kit. Audi Music Interface AMI A4 A5 A6 A8 Q5 Q7 COMPLETE RETROFIT INSTALL KIT NEW !!! | eBay. You don't need to use the extra leads supplied to do a swap for the CD.

    Hope that helps
