I have the 3.0 V6 TDi, engine code ASB. Can someone please confirm that I need 5w30?

I was going to order 8 litres of Castrol Edge 5w30 but want to make sure I'm ordering correctly

Also - Bosch, Hengst or Guttman oil filters?

If I go with the Castrol Edge oil and Bosch filter it comes to £61.79 with free delivery!

VW502.00, 505.00, so not suitable for PD or CR engines. Only for pre-2000 indirect injection.

VW507 or VW505.01 spec required.

Last time I ordered all bits for service from Belfast Audi... they matched or bettered ebay prices... delivered to door + genuine parts

ASDA price for Castrol Edge 5W-30 ( 504/507) is £35 for 4L.

They have it in my Costco.
The latest is Castrol Edge 5w-30 FST. Its VW507.01.
The price is £29.95 inc VAT.

I have my car on variable service at Audi e.g 2 years but give it an oil and filter change myself yearly. May buy some in ready for a service in March. If I leave it till then to buy some they probably won't have it in!

I find it a bit annoying that the car takes 8.7 Litres and they sell the oil in 4 Litre containers. Still I have lots spare from it's last oil change.

I think Mann make the filters for Audi. Don't know about others but sure they would be fine, all good makes. I normally get one from Audi.
