    Hi all,

I've been asked to get a new HID Kit for a mates Polo 9N (2005 Plate), as his current one is playing up :/ Will it need a can-bus system for it? it doesn't currently come up with a light on dash if a bulbs out, if that helps

    Any recommendations?

What we think of the following:

VW GOLF MK4 POLO HID XENON CONVERSION LIGHT KIT H7 AC | eBay

NEW 55W CANBUS SLIM HID XENON CONVERSION KIT AC BALLAST - ALL BULBS/COLOURS | eBay

H7 Canbus Pro Mid Slim HID Conversion kit - All Colours | eBay

    Thanks

    Cheers

Buy a good pair of bulbs instead - OSRAM Nightbreakers or Philips Xtreme Vision - least you won't be blinding oncoming vehicles with these

Do any 9Ns have the bulb thing on the dash? Mine doesn't.
    2002 Polo 9n 1.2 65PS. Basic but it's better than the train!

People who fit illegal HID kits to cars without projector lights, self levelling and pressure jet wash should be dragged from their cars and beaten at the side of the road for endangering oncoming traffic.

he could just fit some normal bulbs and have no worries with a proper mot test as he won't have self levelling or washers for his lights.
with proper bulbs his car, well at least his lights , will be fully legal.
you have asked for advice about illegal hids, you have received it, and thats about as good as it gets. its like asking about the best slick tyres to buy for road use, or how to get around your reflective number plates.
i had some illegal hids behind me the other night. now the nights have drawn in you will see them more. they are a menace to other road users and the culprits should have to watch their car being crushed, preferably from the inside.

i have some nightbreakers in mine and they made a nice difference.
maybe you should talk your friend into doing away with the hids, or enlist him here and we will
