After much searching I eventually settled on a low milage (27k) one owner 1.9 B6 57 plate.
After carefully inspecting it and with only a few hundred miles as the new owner I am more than a little disappointed to find the dreaded "Parking Brake Fault light on"
Park brake works about 50% of the time and I can always reset by turning off and waiting a few mins.

I'm reluctant to use the Park brake at present to prevent further damage to the modules etc.

The fault is intermittent and my independent friendly garage has read the codes.
    They read as follows:
03200 Switch electrical problems in circuit
    16366 CPU 2 Malfunction
    16352 CPU Electrical error
00446 Cant remember but I think it was voltage related
    00532

I v'e had a good read up through the search functions on this forum and would welcome any advise.

I have inspected the brake motors for cracks in the housing- none found.

Switch replacement was going to be my first course of action?

Your faults suggest a new switch will be the fix.
