I have had this problem for a few months now where my Alhambra judders between 1500 - 2000 rpm most noticable in second gear in the mentioned rev range i have spent a lot of time and money on the car however no further problem still there.

    Parts Changed:

    Clutch and Flywheel
    Primary/balance shaft inside gearbox
    N/S & O/S Drive shaft (outer)
    Checked Cam for wear
    Set injector timing
    Changed wheels tyres

Most mechanics i have spoken to go straight for the Drive Shafts however i can reproduce this judder when the car is stationary which shows to me that this has nothing to do with the Driveshafts or any other part of the running gear.

I have had 3 clutch and flywheels in this car over the last 9 months trying to eliminate this judder thinking that it is the flywheel it has been changed by the garage that initally fitted it under Warranty.

From when the problem started i assumed that this was a problem with either a injector or injector wiring loom if not flywheel however it has been on VW diagnostics and it has returned no errors apart from 17965 Charge Pressure Control which i have been told is Turbo this is another issue which is causing the car to go in to Limp Mode. My local garage has also advised me that if there was a problem with injector wiring loom then this wouldnt just cause a judder between 1500-2000 rpm it would be there all the time.

When driving on motorway even over 2000rpm the car doesnt feel 100% the way it used to does feel a bit twitchy however no judder or miss as such but definatly doesnt feel as smooth as it used to.

This Judder is really took the pleasure away from driving this car and i really wanted to eliminate this problem however for what it is costing me am not sure if it is worth it as no Mechanic can seem to pinpoint the problem.

Another thing that sprung to my mind after the car came out of VW dealers yesterday is can this judder be caused by the turbo ?? Is this Turbo, Judder and limp mode issue all related ??

Has anyone else come across this problem or can anyone help as i am not sure what to do next cant afford to waste anymore cash on MAYBE parts being changed !!

Hi, I would recomend that you eliminate all fault codes. I had a golf which had an idling problem and spent a lot of money on different things, only to find out that the powersteering ressure switch was causing the car to go into limp mode. After the pressure switch was replaced all the problems went away.

sooo, what engine code are we on about then, you mention injector wiring which would lead me to believe its a pd, but if not then mr balbrig could have a point and its a problem with the injector rotary pump being corroded internally.
