    I would like to change my very poor halogen headlights to xenons as I do a lot of night driving, I did this retrofit on my C5 allroad and there was no problem because the headlights were self-leveling and the car already had the headlight wash system.

    Can anyone tell me if the C6 allroad also has the self-leveling headlights? The impression I'm getting is that they don't and it's difficult to tell just from looking at them. To be honest I completely forgot to scan the dash for the dial and now I'm working away for a few weeks.

    I guess I'm just in denial since I used Igor's excellent option decoder which told me that this is what I have:
    8BF = Halogen headlight for driving on the left
    8Q0 = Without headlight-range adjustment

    Has anyone retrofitted the Dynamic Headlight Range Control? How involved do you think it would be?

    Is there a headlight adjustment switch down by the driver side heater vent?

    Hi Chris, umm, I'm afraid I didn't notice, I've only had the car for a week and am now working away for a few weeks but was hoping to get headlights sorted out so I can fit them when I next get home. I was hoping someone who also had an allroad with halogens would be able to tell me. These are my lights, they seem to be independently mounted, as in they appear to be capable of movement:

    Based on the 2007 Allroad brochure on the Audi UK website (http://www.audi.co.uk/content/dam/au...20Jan%2007.pdf) the standard Allroad does not get Automatic Range Adjustment, just electric adjustment (ie the switch on the dash). Whether this changed for later years I do not know

    Hi,
    I have a 56 plate allroad. From brochure (2007 model year) it comes standard with "Halogen headlights in clear glass with electric adjustment". Mine doesn't have any manual range control, I believed it was automatic with the air suspension. Now i'm confused, if it says electric adjustment but doesn't have a manual thumbwheel then it has to be automatic, but then I would have to have "dynamic headlight range control" option, which I don't.

    Looking at this some more I think the first allroads like mine (brochure valid from March 2006), don't have electric adjustment because they have self levelling suspension they don't need it. 2007 model year does have the adjuster although I would think the suspension works the same???

    So sorry to confuse things, as a6-chris says, if you have a manual thumbwheel then you should be OK. Having said that it wouldn't be 'self levelling headlights' would it.

    I also have code 8Q0 without headlight range adjustment.

    ISTR that if you have the self levelling air suspension, you don't need the automatic range adjustment in which case you should be OK to bang in the xenon units without the "dynamic range control". I thing this is written into the regs and I know from some of my more informed colleagues on m/cycle forums (where HID kits are even more popular due to standard units normally being absolute sh*te). As inferred by Sparker of course.

    Thanks for all the replies and info.

    I'm confused too, I've only just gotten back and found that I do not have the thumbwheel on the dash either, so I wonder why they say in the brochure that the lights have electric levelling.

    I've ordered a set of headlights from the guys at audiled.eu which are Bi-Xenon with the LED DRLs and they say are plug and play, fingers crossed they are. I'll see once I have the original lights out if they have the motors or not.
