Well I am here again asking for help with my Audi 90. Well as some of you may know, my distributor fell apart a few weeks ago whilst I was drivng and I had to be towed home. Well the problem now is that I have fitted a recon distributor and checked the timing but now have have no power, so little in fact a 1 litre fiat panda overtook me going uphill and I was struggling in third to get 45mph. I am sure the timing is right, I have followed the haynes manual and bought a krypton tunning gun and did how it said but the damn thing is just so gutless. Does anyone have an idea what I have done wrong or had the same problem.

She is a 5 cylinder 2.3 NG engine ticking over at about 700-750rpm, she was just serviced before the distributor failed and has had new plugs, filter oil etc and had the throttle bodies cleanned and set up during the service.
One day I will have a nice car

Finally cracked it. Whilst I was scracthing my head and think of ways to destroy my car I noticed that the accelerator cable looked a bit funny. On closer inspection I found that the retaining clip which keeps it in please next to the throttle had broke causing the accelerator cable to simple slide back and forth went you pressed the pedal. A quick fix using on old washer and a pair of wirecutters and I managed to make a replacement. Now the accelerator cable stays in place and I now have full acceleration when I pressed the pedal. The igniton timing was a red hering and wasted me days of tinkering and cursing all for no reason.

In future I think that stepping back and thinking logically might actually help me out in future problems.

Now all I have to do is sort out some decent secondhand alloy wheels.
One day I will have a nice car
