    ok all rectified ... MAF connected... no VCDS... 500 miles or more

    Well MAF arrived ... no meddling thou ... done 160 miles yesterday... 8 starts... issue still there ... filled her up see what she does over next tank full...

    Well 50 more miles since last post... all in town... too many starts... but issue still there ...

    So last post 160+50=210 miles plus 50 or so more = 260miles... issue was getting worse not better ...

    I was worried all rocking/erratic idles on a cold start must not be good... so I changed MAF... 3 days ago... for 2 days after change... revs good across varying temps/length of drive...

    Now fully cold/hot start is stable revs... still getting issue in the inbetween temp range intermittently... I can't justify cost of injectors at mo...

    So once I gain the will again may look at issue/other MVB's on engine... really sick of predicament with this car ...

    Currently done 430 miles since ECM SVM Action... out of this last 170 miles on new MAF...

    i) car is still doing the issue usually milder than before... but variates sometimes in intensity...

    ii) twice I've noticed thick white smoke on first start of day and this was not early/cold morning starts either...

    iii) the smoke is a dense white... heavy fume smell... climbs very high... where as usual vapour thing is low level/less dense/not as smelly... what I think is vapour (normal) Link:- post 16

    So my question is now will injector swap out for new solve issue?

    I couldn't be suffering any more issues could I not after all the bits changed

    Mine dense white with a hint of blue. Lingers and drifts upwards and smells very strong.

    In fact mine smells very strongly when I open the door at idle and is not the typical diesel exhaust fume smell.

    Bosch service centre said 3 of mine were out of tolerance so I'm praying a swap will cure these symptoms.
